Yes Doctor, Reiki is Great for the Heart!

A former student call and ask whether or not Reiki is good for people with heart valve problems. This student/practitioner saw an improvement in her client with Reiki but then the child’s mother talked to her cardiologist who said that Reiki is bad for people with heart problems.  This made both of us so frustrated so I decided to put together some information just in case anyone hears this from a person unfamiliar with the benefits of Reiki.

So let’s talk about all the ways in which Reiki or high-vibrational energy work is good for the heart. Reiki increases heart/brain coherence, aids in pre and post surgical anxiety and stress, is beneficial for heart attack patients, increases feelings of peace and love, lowers stress levels, releases medical trauma, and so much more.

1.    When you receive Reiki, your heart and brain often enter into a state called coherence. This decreases anxiety and increases the flow of positive emotions.

What is heart/brain coherence?

Heart/Brain coherence is one’s ability to self-regulate the quality of feeling and emotion of one’s moment-to-moment experience. Self-induced positive emotions are reflected in the pattern of one’s heart’s rhythm, which in turn increases the coherence in bodily processes. This shift in the heart rhythm plays an important role in facilitating higher cognitive functions, creating emotional flexibility, and facilitating social connectedness.

Research has demonstrated that Reiki increases coherence – increased levels or coherence increase one’s positive emotions, decreases anxiety, opens up one’s intuition.

2.    Reiki may aid in the healing process and improve the prognosis of the patient following a heart attack.

A study by Pamela Miles and researchers at Yale University medical school published in a top level peer-reviewed journal shows non-drug, low-cost, no-risk Reiki Treatment can benefit heart attack patients.

 3. Multiple studies have demonstrated that Reiki can people who participate in Reiki sessions before or after surgery are less likely to feel anxious than those who do not.

When you receive Reiki, your heart and brain often enter into a state called coherence. This decreases anxiety and increases the flow of positive emotions.

4. Reiki has no negative side effects, it’s a low-cost, drug-free alternative for pain relief and stress reduction.

5. Reiki increases feelings of calm, peace and self-love. It just feels good!

6. I have had many heart surgeries and Reiki has helped me to get through many physical and emotional challenges – this heart patient highly recommends Reiki!!

Reducing Stress on Doctor’s Orders

When doctors advise their patients to "eliminate stress," many turn to alternative therapies like Reiki. Reiki sessions provide a deeply relaxing experience that can significantly reduce stress levels, contributing to overall health and well-being.
